Default Urology Question and Symptoms

Hi all,

I am 30 years old Male. About 4 days ago I started having a burning feeling in the bladder when I urinate. The feeling is there even when i don't urinate. Also the head of my penis is a little irritating, but it’s not painful at all. So I went to an urologist yesterday and he did a urine test and everything seemed all right. He checked my penis's skin for any signs of other indications and nothing is there. So he said that I might have a mild prostate inflammation and prescribed me an anti-biotic called Ciprofloxacn. So I went and got the drug and when I got home I did my research and surprisingly this drug is only prescribed when there is an indication of urine infection and when the bacteria is found in the urine but my urine test did not show anything. I started the medication yesterday as soon as I got it, but based on my research I am thinking to drop it and go seek another opinion.

I went last weekend to visit my fiancée and meet her family. I stayed in a hotel so i was thinking that i might have picked up something from the hotel. I did not have a sexual intercourse and I am VIRGIN. Matter of fact we are both VIRGINS. So i asked the doctor if there is a possibility that i picked up something from the hotel and he said no.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Hi there sorry to hear about your problem. It does sound like a classic bladder or 'water works' infection and antibiotics are the best thing for that. I do not think you could have caught anything in the hotel either, this is almost impossible but the importnat thing is that you feel satsified and relaxed that you are getting the right treatment. Maybe it would be a good idea for you to get a second opionin just to put your mind at rest. I would keep taking the medication until then.
