Psychological problems can come in many forms, from a mild depression to psychosis. Psychiatry and Psychology are the disciplines that are chiefly responsible for dealing with mental problems, some of which can be said to be environmentally triggered or circumstantial, a direct response to an occurrence like bereavement or losing a job, a marriage break up or something similar. Organic problems occur when the chemical balance in the brain is disturbed by illness or perhaps a stroke. There are many medicines that can be employed in the treatment of mental illness and even electric shock treatment, not employed as much these days, was found helpful in some instances as a sort of short circuit that would allow the brain to begin to work normally again.
