Default Advanced Cell Technology is initiating first clinical trial against Macular Degenerat

FDA gives clearance to Advanced Cell Technology, for their First Clinical Trial Using Embryonic Stem Cells to treat patients with Stargardt's Macular Dystrophy (SMD) which causes progressive vision loss, usually in children between 10 to 20 years of age.

What can you say about that?

I say that is pretty impressive. I was reading the other day that it will be possible for human to live to 1000 in another 100 years with the way that medical technology is advancing. This just proves what work is being done. A lot of cancers now do not present the death sentence that they did and people are already living over 100 more and more often. It may be a bit of a social problem if we all stay alive such long time basically contributing little but potentially draining resources. I myself would be happy to live until I can no longer look after myself, at that time I would be happy to go. I do not see the point in prolonging life for the sake of it, unless there is a quality of life to be enjoyed.
