There will be excellent centers for all kinds of surgery in the USA. Can you be more specific as to what surgery is needed and where the patient lives? I actually live in the UK but I do a lot of research for patients looking for specialised treatment both in the UK and the USA.

All surgery comes with a risk James especially surgery on very overweight people. I do not know what weight of person you are talking about but if someone is very obese the risk can be as high as 50/50 However the alternative once you get to that stage is almost certain death from the strain on the organs from obesity itself so it is a sort of last chance saloon. If you want to know for a specific person then ask them to visit their doctor who will explain it all in full, or a reputable clinic that carries out this procedure.

There are well experienced doctors and well equipped hospitals in the whole US for brain tumor surgery. But in order to get a good answer you should be more precise.
