I was diagnosed 3 weeks ago with VERTIGO. I am constantly dizzy, (like coming off of a merry go round") unbalanced walking into walls, even noticed walking leaning to the left. In the last couple of days if I squint my eyes to focus my whole face twitches (spasms) and today my head is moving involuntarily etc..getting bruises, Ringing and humming in both ears, muffled hearing, nausea, loss of appetite, I even find my concentration and abilty to focus affected. I am extremely fatigued, bright lights are really bothersome. Laying in a semi-fowlers position alleviates the dizziness somewhat. I have been to the Emergency room, they rescribed me SERC 16mg I take this at bedtime only due to my 10 year ild daughter being home and having a fear of not being able to look after her properly. I went to my family Dr. and he rescribed the trans dermal nausea patch not very effective either. I take domperidone 6-8 10mg tabs daily..the only way to stop from losing my food and fluids. I am very concerned, I have missed 3 weeks of work and due to go back July 25th, I am not sure I will be able to. I work 7p.m. until 7 a.m. I was told not to drive..I do not drive. My Dr. put in a referral for ENT and I have yet to hear about an apointment. Please if anyone has any suggestions I am open to them. Thank You.

Poor you! I do sympathise. My mother used to get a condition called labyrinthitis a lot and when she had that she could do nothing but take to her bed. The labyrinth is a part of the brain that controls balance and if it is inflamed it can make you feel very dizzy.

I hope that you get that ENT appointment soon and that you get to the bottom of what is causing your symptoms. For now though, chin up and let us know how you get on.
