Default Pituitary Gland Dysfunction - Low Testosterone

Hello there

My father is advised to use AndroGel as he suffers from low testosterone level due to the lack of performance of the pituitary gland. He also takes cortisone pills. Unfortunately, AndroGel recently got banned in the region where I live. The alternatives (gum, injection, patch, etc) were banned ever before. He now complaints of body aches and weakness. Is there any other way which can help in producing testosterone in the body? I am also worried if AndroGel or any other medicine for testosterone is harmful, may be that's the reason it got banned here, please correct me on this.

Really appreciate your assistance here.

Many thanks.

Irfan

AndroGel is a clear, colorless gel that usually comes in a carton containing 30 single-use packets. AndroGel contains the male hormone testosterone. This gel is prescribed as replacement hormone therapy for men who have abnormally low testosterone levels. Other forms of testosterone replacement include tablets, skin patches or intramuscular injections. The gel provides more consistent levels of testosterone compared to injections and causes less skin irritation than patches.

In studies, the most common side effects reported for men using AndroGel were abnormal lab tests, acne, prostate disorders, skin irritation, gynecomastia (abnormally large breasts), and impaired urination.

However if you are in need of it it has its use, check with the doctor.
