You are right there Kevin and it is always worth going to see the doctor to find out what is at the bottom of your sleep problem and to get some help; Sleep is essential for the body to renew itself and repair the damage done by what we do and eat and ow we live. Without the proper sleep we can not be completely healthy. There are over the counter medications for this but they are not advised for long term use. See a doctor, there is rarely nothing they can do!!
I'm Danny DeVito new member just come to this community forum. My point of view A sleep disorder is a problem that stops people from sleeping normally. Changes in life -style, such as shift work change or travelling over several times zones, can cause sleep disorders. Some other problems that can cause sleeping problems include:

Various drugs and medications

Circadian rhythm disorders
You are so right. The thing that should be something that comes naturally to us is often a very complex area full of hurdles before we can get a good nights sleep! We need our sleep as the way to refresh us and renew us for the next day and prolonged times without sleep can be very detrimental. I have had a pretty chequered history with sleep myself, and I know that it can really wear you down if for night after night you just cannot get to sleep or in my case, stay asleep.
Hi Guys, sleeping disorder is related to no of ways you behve during sleeping as grinding of the teeth, Sleep Walking, Snoring, Restless Leg, Night Terror, Night Sweats, Hypopnea, and much more.
You are quite right and thank you for reminding us that it is not just being unable to sleep well that is harmful and a problem there are those other conditions that you listed too! One of the most dangerous is sleep apnoea where stopping breathing while you sleep can end in death for some unlucky people. Sleep apnoea most often associated with being very overweight and is definitely life threatening.
