Yes I must agree Kevin, whatever else comes in and out of fashion one thing always seems to stay the same, and that is drinking water. I am still struggling to drink the recommended amount each day, do you know if other fluids count as well to wards the intake each day (not alcohol obviously!)

Hi,

Follow below given best tips for healthy living:
Keep to your meal routine - Try to eat at roughly the same times each day
Go reduced fat- Choose reduced fat versions of foods such as dairy products, spreads and salad dressings where you can.
Walk off the weight - Walk 10,000 steps each day.
Pack a healthy snack - If you snack, choose a healthy option such as fresh fruit or low calorie yogurts instead of chocolate or crisps.
Look at the labels - Check the fat and sugar content on food labels when shopping and preparing food.
Think about your drinks - Choose water or sugar-free squashes
Don’t forget your 5 a day - Eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables a day
Focus on your food - Don’t eat on the go or while watching TV

On of the points that you mention is, I think very important and that is the one that concerns the drinking of fizzy drinks. I am never quite sure why but we do hear that even the diet version of colas etc. are bad for you although they do not contain any sugar. I am not quite sure how that works, and I still love my diet coke. I don't think one a day will do much harm but apparently lots can be detrimental to losing weight.

I am still trying to get my head and my mouth around the drinking water thing. I still feel that our body is programmed to prompt us when we are thirsty hungry want to sleep etc. I just can't see that it is a good idea to do any of those things if your body is not telling you you need to!
