Hi and thanks for the post! It is true that eating too much red meat has been linked to all the problems that you mention but on the other hand meat is a good source of protein and our teeth were made for eating it! It is a matter of not overdoing it. I think that the recommendation is that you should not eat red meat from than twice a week. Instead you could have chicken or fish. I think that in a lot of the parts of the world fish is not eaten enough and that is something that I have been trying to put right in my own diet. Like everything else, moderation is the key I think!

I agree with your comment, it is true eating too much of meat leads to several diseases, so it is best to limit the consumption of meat. Especially old people should give more importance to this message.
Yes I think that you are right. Since protein from meat and in fact a lot of what our food provides is less in demand in older people who are not as active and do not need the calories to keep them going then correspondingly they should eat less. Meat is what we were designed to eat and I heard recently that as long as we eat food that is naturally available to us and avoid processed or manufactured food that is mass produced we will do better.
