I have to say I have mixed feelings about it. I do think that there must be something in it, a lot of the treatments are hundreds for years old and I guess they would not have survived if they did not work on some level. It is easy to be seduced by the scientific way of looking at things and to be brainwashed into thinking that that is the only real way to go. On the other hand I had acupuncture at a Chinese herbalists for quitting smoking and it did nothing for me at all! I suppose it is like mos things, you have to be open minded to these things and ready to believe they will do you good before they can. After all it has been proven that patients of conventional medicine who do the best with their treatment and achieve the best results are the ones who have a positive attitude to it all. So do I believe in Chinese Medicine? Yes, I think I do, or at least I believe in the power of suggestion and belief that it will do you goodto achieve a good result!

acupuncture is actually very effective to deal with the pain.

serveral years ago, one of my friend experienced the intense pain because he had stones in his kidney. the pain was so intense that painkillers did not work for him. the a acupuncture doctor put couple of needles on my friend's waist. amazingly, in just minutes, the pain easied off...

I definitely think that there is something in acupuncture, after all it has been going for centuries and if it did not show some success it would not have survived. I think that perhaps the reason that it did not work for me to stop smoking, was because I was not ready to give up. I do think that with Chinese medicine as with any other type of treatment, medical or alternative a certain amount of belief helps in getting results. I was not ready and when I was it took very little effort to finally give up. Do I miss it? Actually no. There are the odd times when I smell smoke or in certain situations that I do think about it but have never got close to taking it up again.
