Hello Mary Alice

I am sorry to hear that your dry skin is getting you down so much. I do know that sometimes the dry skin can be beyond the usual remit of creams and over the counter products. I think you might have to see a skin care professional or even a doctor. There may be many causes for dry skin but rather than being sad, hurry along to your doctor or make an appointment with a skin care specialist.

Do let us know how you get on.

Sometimes my skin is so dry that it cracks and bleeds. It happens randomly. Putting lotion and a type of covering on the area can help prevent the skin from cracking more.

Hello there and sorry to hear bout the problems you are having with your skin. I really think that if the skin is cracking and bleeding this goes beyond the normal dry skin problem and that you should see your doctor who will most likely refer you to a dermatologist to see what is going on. It may be eczema or psoriasis but I don;t think that over the counter medication will be able to offer you the best chance to get over this problem
