Default Aboid Age Spot

Age spots are harmless and unappealing dark spots that occur on the forehead and the back of neck, feet, hands, and arms. These spots occur in people who are at the wrong side of 50 and also those who have an overexposure to the sun. Though age spots mostly occur in people who have left their middle-age behind, they are more of a sign of overexposure to sun, than an indicator of age. Age spots can, therefore, be considered as ‘adult freckles' that rarely appear before middle age. However, these dark, blotchy spots can be a concern for people, because not only are they ugly and scary looking, but also give you an unglamorous look by marring your skin. What usually happens is that, due to age, your skin loses its strength to recover from sun damage and this results in the proliferation of spots. This is more serious in people with fair skin. So, appropriate remedies must be taken to counter these spots. To help you in this regard, we have listed some useful tips on how to avoid age spots. Tips To Prevent Age Spots Lemon Juice

Yes this is one for those sun worshippers to be aware of! it is a definite problem that you will run into if you have been a sub worshipper. I must say that I have been less than careful in the sub myself and am now paying the price with age spots and a host of other problems. It is a slow process and of course at the time you don;t think that you are doing any damage, especially as the full effects are not generally seen until many many years later!

Age spots known medically as lentigos and seborrhoeic keratoses are brown patches which commonly appear on the back of the hands the face and the back.

There are certain chemical substances called psoralens, present in foods such as parsley, limes and parsnips that may cause age spots. When you handle these foods and then go out in the sun, your skin may be more sensitive and burn more easily where the psoralens touched it. When perfumes or lotions containing musk or bergamot oil are applied to sun-exposed areas, they can produce age spots. Antibiotics such as tetracycline , some diuretics and antipsychotic medicines such as chlorpromazine will also cause your skin to produce age spots when it is not protected from the sun

The most important thing you can do to stop new age spots from forming is to wear sunscreen-all the time. But we’ve to ask ur Dr. first what kind of sunscreen fit ur skin.

If you have just a few age spots that are not too dark, you can try an over-the-counter remedy. But for a persistent crop of age spots, your dermatologist has several very effective treatments.
Such as :
Bleaching creams, fade cream, Medicated creams ,Chemical peels,Comouflage makeup.

Surgical treatment options are also available to rid the body of age spots. And the most efficient treatment nowadays is Laser therapy.

It is a thing that bothers a lot of people although I cannot think that it would bother me much. This is just another one of the things that we are made to feel self conscious about that we need not do. But we continue to be slaves to the beauty industry and to try to make ourselves what is expected of us! I know that there are whole industries that have been set up pander to these sorts of sensitivities but I for one am resisting them!
