Default Upper Arm Lift Surgery

Does anyone know anything about upper arm lifts? I think this is something quite new and I am not sure how it all goes down and what the situation is regarding scarring, as it cannot be hidden as in the face lift etc. Any info would be gratefully received.

Before your surgery your plastic surgeon will mark the areas where the surgery is to be performed. An incision is made, beginning at the inner elbow and proceeding up to the armpit. The incisions are made in this way so that the resulting scar lies along the back of the inner upper arm, placed in a way that has the least visual impact. Quite often the plastic surgeon will also use liposuction, which offers significant improvement with very little visible scarring.

For full details on this proceudre see bodiesbeautiful.co.uk/arm_lift_intro.html

where there are some photos too.

I hope this answers your question.

Default Upper Arm Lift Surgery

Your doctor may offer you the choice between using a local or general anesthetic; however, most patients are most comfortable with a general anesthetic for this procedure.

The doctor begins by marking the area of excess skin, with the patient either standing or sitting. The anesthesia is administered. Incisions are made on the inner and under surface of the arm, most often in a zigzagged line. The pattern of skin removal usually follows an elliptical or triangular shape. Often some fat is suctioned at the same time. The surgical opening may run from the armpit to as low as the elbow.

While the excess skin and fat is removed, the remaining skin is stretched and sutured into place. Occasionally, a drain is used to lead excess fluids out from the site of incision, allowing the skin better to adhere to the tissue beneath. The incisions are then bandaged.

I have a fat grafting procedure scheduled for July 16 but am suffering from gallbladder attacks. I was going to have my gallbladder removed after my cosmetic procedure but the attacks just hurt so bad. If I were to have the gallbladder surgery done on June 4 would that give me enough time to heal and have my cosmetic surgery on the scheduled date? If not, is it safe to have the cosmetic surgery even though I have gallstones?
